Datalogger with parallel data logging
Havlena, Marek ; Minář, Petr (referee) ; Zuth, Daniel (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the design and implementation of the Datalogger module, which stores data in two different memory storages. First memory storage is solved by using an SD card and the second is the internal EEPROM memory of the microcontroller. It also deals with data synchronization between these memory storages. Communication between the cards is through the SPI bus and communication with the module is provided by a serial interface designed by USB transmitter (UART).
Optimization of the Distributed I/O Subsystem of the k-Wave Project
Vysocký, Ondřej ; Klepárník, Petr (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with an effective solution of the parallel I/O of the k-Wave tool, which is designed for time domain acoustic and ultrasound simulations. k-Wave is a supercomputer application, it runs on a Lustre file system and it requires to be implemented with MPI and stores the data in suitable data format (HDF5). I designed three methods of optimization which fits k-Wave's needs. It uses accumulation and redistribution techniques. In comparison with the native write, every optimization method led to better write speed, up to 13.6GB/s. It is possible to use these methods to optimize every data distributed application with the write speed issue.
Storage media for data archiving
Šicner, Jakub ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Lambertová, Petra (advisor)
This dissertation explains the problem of archiving data based on the media used. Different information carriers and their properties are described in relation with their construction and read and write methods. Depending on write method on individual medium, this part is divided into two main areas. Last part deals with architecture of redundant arrays of independent disks and their standard levels. According to principles of the independent disk array activity, the properties as well as advantages and disadvantages of specific level are discussed.
Application for Online Music Notation Typesetting
Mackovič, Jakub ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
In this thesis, an application for musical notation in the environment of web browsers using the SVG vector graphics format is proposed. We have a look at relevant standard notation practices as well as at the history of musical typesetting. Existing programs for musical notation are classified and examined and based on those a user interface for the application is designed along with some modifications. The implementation of the application is then described. A set of features is presented and their usefulness is with the user interface tested on users. The feedback of the testing is then evaluated and the application is improved based on the feedback. Finally, the future of the application is discussed. Because SVG can still be considered an experimental technology and many browsers lack its support or their behaviour differs, the application is only guaranteed to work on the Google Chrome browser.
Records in the Land Register
Bulíčková, Karolína ; Žákovská, Karolina (advisor) ; Franková, Martina (referee)
Records in the Land Register This diploma thesis deals with the institute of records in the Land Register, which, due to Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, underwent numerous changes that needed to be reflected in legal regulation of the Land Register. At the time of writing this thesis, it has already been 6 years since the recodification of the Civil Code and changes associated therewith. Thus, it is possible to evaluate the legal regulation of records in the Land Register in its whole complexity. The thesis is divided in five parts that analyse different aspects of this legal institute. The first part of the diploma thesis outlines the historical evolution of the evidence of real estate itself for better understanding of current legal regulation. The second part of the thesis is focused on current legal regulation of the Land Register, its essential principles of holding the Register and extracts from the Land Register providing information about the state of real estate. The third part deals with the subject of evidence, as not all real property is being registered in the Land Register. Regardless the general description, the contentious part of the issue based on legal regulation is being involved in the description of each real estate as well. The fourth part of the diploma thesis aims to...
Proceedings in Commercial Register Matters
Baloun, Matěj ; Sedláček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Střeleček, Tomáš (referee)
Proceedings in Commercial Register Matters Abstract The topic of this diploma thesis is the proceedings in commercial register matters, i.e. proceedings before civil courts on the entries of legally relevant facts in the commercial register. The commercial register is an important institute, especially for business relations involving entrepreneurs, which ensures the transparency of the entrepreneur through the registration of their relevant information and further makes such information publicly available to third parties. In addition to the option of contacting a notary, it is also possible to achieve the required registration in the commercial register through legal proceedings before the civil (so-called register) courts that decide on them. The ambition of this thesis is to describe, analyse and critically evaluate the existing legal regulation of proceedings in commercial register matters, or the current legal status of its important institutes, as well as to point out controversial issues and outline their possible solutions. Furthermore, the aim is to continuously identify the shortcomings of the existing legislation and to prepare the possibilities of their solution. By carrying out a final comparison of the legislation in the Federal Republic of Germany and pointing out its significant aspects, it...
Records in the Land Register
Zemanová, Renáta ; Franková, Martina (advisor) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee)
This thesis is focused on the records in the land register. This topic still has its relevance in the contemporary world and can appear in any person's life. The special attention is paid to the objects in question - concretely the properties registered by this institution. The second part of this thesis, the most extensive, focuses on the particular acts of recording into the land register - registration, record, note and respective proceedings. In the first part of the second section, the rights which are objects of the records are mentioned. The most commonly used is the right in property, which is...

Impact of capitation grant on pupils’ enrollment in Ghana, a case study of selected junior high schools in Wa municipality
Aidoo, Kelly Addo
This study provides an assessment of how capitation grant has impacted the enrollment of pupils in selected basic education schools in the Wa Municipality in Ghana. In a real sense it provides an empirical platform for assessing how this policy is contributing to the achievement of the MDG II, and the constitutional right. The key educational indicators which form the basis of the study are gross enrolment at the Junior High school stage, the pass rates for the national examinations at the Junior High school level. It used a survey to assess the opinion of Municipal Education Director, head teachers, teachers and other stakeholders of education regarding the impact of the capitation grant policy on pupils’ enrolment in the municipality. Using the school level data over the period 2000-2012 and the survey of (43) respondents within 14 selected schools captured questions of staff demographics, capitation grant and pupils’ enrolment, capitation grant, and pupils’ performance and capitation grant and its challenges across the Wa Municipality. The finding of the study revealed that the capitation grant has actually led to increase in enrolment of pupils in the basic schools. This paper also reveals that capitation grant has helped in bridging gap between children from poor and rich homes. The study concludes by noting three key policy messages; increase in capitation grant should target disadvantage groups. Again, there should be provision of incentives to schools with good record of progression and completion and effort should go towards the shortening of the capitation grant delivery chain. However, the study notes the fact that, capitation grant alone cannot deliver on good educational outcomes as enshrined in the constitution.
